ARUSHA SERENA HOTEL IN LAKE DULUTI ARUSHA

Navigation Tip - Go Directly To Prices, Reviews, Map, Photos, Video & Room Rate Guide For Arusha Serena Hotel

Arusha Serena Hotel, Resort & Spa is a lake-side hotel in northern Tanzania that is less than 9 miles from Arusha (20 minutes away) and a little more than 28 miles from Kilimanjaro International Airport (45 minutes away). The hotel was formerly known as Lake Duluti Serena Hotel and also Serena Mountain Village is on the shores of Lake Duluti in the forested foothills of Mount Meru, an area that is known as the “doorway to Tanzania’s Northern Safari Circuit i.e. Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Lake Manyara and Tarangire”.

The ash colored exterior architecture reflects the colonial style of the original coffee farm that operated on the property, and, today, the hotel is still surrounded by coffee plantations and gorgeous scenery. The 42 guest cottages at this charming Arusha accommodation are built of stone and traditional thatched roofs, and are situated amidst shady tropical trees at the central “village square.”

AfricanMecca guests may choose from 21 double rooms with king-size beds and 21 twin rooms, including one pair of rooms that connect, perfect for small groups and families on a nature safari. All rooms are non-smoking and have private balconies with views of the gardens and Lake Duluti. In-room amenities include telephone, Wi-Fi and bottled mineral water.

Newlyweds on safari may choose the romantic Honeymoon Suite that includes tropical fruit and imported wine, sitting room with a private mini-bar and an exquisite bathroom. Arusha Serena Hotel can even host your wedding and reception on the hotel lawn, shores of the lake or at the coffee plantation.

Business and social events during your trip to Arusha can also be managed by the hotel with all pre-planning via your AfricanMecca planner. Facilities include large meeting/event rooms with private verandahs, state-of-the-art equipment, catering and professional support staff, as well as many other necessities.

The lounge, restaurant and gift shop are located inside the main house, and the inviting atmosphere and views of the gardens and lake make you feel rightly relaxed during your serene holiday to Tanzania. Delicious local and international dishes are prepared with locally-sourced ingredients and served in the main dining area.

On the weekends, the hotel offers outdoor buffets, weather permitting. “Full English” and European breakfast options are served buffet-style, and the lunch buffet may have meat, fish, poultry, vegetables and much more. You may also request in advance meals that meet specific dietary requirements, such as vegetarian, kosher, halal, gluten-free and others.

For a unique meal experience, you may request breakfast or a picnic lunch next to Lake Duluti or a barbecue lunch or dinner in the garden on long stays. Dinner is served at your table and includes a range of meat and vegetarian dishes. Whether you want to enjoy the outdoors, take an introductory tour of Arusha or be pampered with spa services, Arusha Serena Hotel gives you a quiet and peaceful abode to relax before and after your African safari quest (read more on when is the best time to visit Arusha for a Northern Tanzania safari).
