WHERE TO STAY IN LAKE BOGORIA
We recommend the Junior and Executive suites to families and independent travelers who may prefer additional space, as well as work desk, bathtub and other amenities. For couples, we recommend the cottages that are set away from the other guest rooms, giving you a budget romantic retreat for your distinct anniversary and honeymoon travel to Lake Bogoria Reserve. Guests who seek a more backpacker adventure, rucksack, non-frill East African bush safari experience may prefer the simplicity of the pitched tents. The campsite offers electric lighting, WC and guest security. The Choma Ranch restaurant at the resort specializes in traditional grilled meats, known as “Nyama Choma,” and we recommend that you sample the “Hango Busta Soup”. You may also want try the “mursik milk,” a traditional Kalenjin drink. Meals are served buffet-style, and food quality is just adequate for keeping your hunger at bay. Some guests may find the meal selection somewhat limited. Cocktails, select wines and other alcoholic beverages are available at the resort’s three bars. Located just five minutes from Lake Bogoria, the resort gives you convenient access to the unique tour activities that allow AfricanMecca lodgers to experience one of Kenya’s alkaline lakes set within a diverse and impressive landscape. For those times when you prefer to relax at the resort, the swimming pool, massage services and natural spring-fed pool are rejuvenating options for passing the time.
