GUIDE ON SAROVA MARA GAME CAMP IN KENYA
Sarova Mara Game Camp offers affordability, modest comfort and convenience for your outback vacation safari in Masai Mara National Reserve. The camp is well-located in a verdant forest in the eastern sector of the game reserve so you can relax amongst a quiet setting. As a budget-conscious African traveler, you desire a safe, clean accommodation with helpful, friendly staff. Sarova Mara Game Camp meets these requirements by ensuring your security and providing a homely environment. The 75 guest tents feature canvas construction, large zippered mesh windows, protective roofs and natural wood floors. The twenty Club Tents feature outstanding views of the plains, generous 4-poster beds, sitting areas, wardrobes, writing desks and full en-suite bathrooms with showers. Glass doors fill the room with natural light and gives you easy access to your private verandah. From this vantage point, you may see dik diks, zebras and other small mammals like hyrax, as well as a variety of winged creatures. Your Club Tent even has enough space for private dining on its patio. Fifty-one Standard Tents are also available for guests who need less room with non-frill amenities. These tents feature adequate sleeping arrangements, writing desks, en-suite bathroom and sitting area with safari-style chairs. For your family trip in Kenya with AfricanMecca, Sarova Mara Camp offers two Family Tents. These “two in one” tents share a common lounge area. One bedroom has delightful views of the natural swamp that is perfect for bird lovers as many avi-fauna are found on the shoreline.
Game drives are the highlight of your wilderness tour in Masai Mara Game Reserve. The drives are offered in the morning and afternoon. We recommend that you start your day with a fresh cup of coffee or tea as the light of sunrise begins to break the dark of night. You gather with other guests to meet your experienced guide before climbing aboard a specially-designed safari vehicle. As your guide takes you across the reserve, you may sight giraffes, impalas, hippos, buffalos and other free-roaming herbivores. Your guide also skillfully points out the location of stealthy lions, cheetahs, leopards and other ferocious hunters. From July to October, you are also likely to see vast numbers of wildebeests and zebras that are part of the Great Migration. You return to camp for breakfast before spending a few hours napping, reading, writing and other pastimes at the camp. A palatable lunch gives you a chance to meet other guests sitting at around various dining tables. Spend your afternoon fishing along the the in-house swamp, playing board games, being pampered with a massage, learning about the community projects that are supported by the camp and any other small adventures that interest you. You join your guide in the late afternoon to early evening for a game drive before sundowners and dinner. AfricanMecca also recommends that you partake of a hot air balloon safari, Maasai village visit, champagne bush breakfast, walking safari and birding tour during your photographic wildlife holiday in south-western Kenya.
