Serian Nkorombo Mobile Camp is an authentic bush accommodation that is located in the confluence area of the Masai Mara National Reserve (view park map). The casual and relaxed ambience of the camp gives even the most energetic guest a rejuvenating break from the non-stop action of a thrilling African safari.



Beyond the stunning location, wonderful guest tents and tasty food, one of the unique aspects of Nkorombo Mobile Camp is that your hosts are local Maasai, a native people who are known for their warm hospitality. The classic, traditional design of the 5 Meru-style guest tents lend to the authenticity of your bush holiday in the Mara.

Each tent is simply furnished with beds, luggage rack, tray tables, chairs and large area rug. The en-suite bathroom features bucket shower, flush toilet, wash basin and mirror. Sheltered by canvas, your private patio is an inviting space, complete with safari-style chairs and a small table, giving you an intimate place to watch hippos and other fauna that frequent the river.



The lounge and dinner area avails comfy tables, safari chairs and sofas along with an outdoor fireplace for evening discourse by the riverside. All of the tents are well-sited for privacy, but we recommend that AfricanMecca lodgers with limited mobility request a tent that is closer to the main area.

Early each morning as the sun peeks over the horizon, you are gently awakened with aromatic coffee and tea. Your guide waits near your private safari vehicle to discuss your first safari activity. We recommend that you spend the morning on a game drive to learn about the extraordinary flora and fauna of the reserve, as well as the culture of the native Maasai people.



Masai Mara Game Reserve is one of the world’s top destinations for wildlife, and from July to October you also have a chance to see one of the greatest natural events before your eyes – the Wildebeest Migration. Being close to the enormous herds of wildebeests and zebras that migrate into the reserve from Serengeti is certainly a highlight of your memorable savannah travel in Kenya.



After you spend the morning being amazed by the natural treasures of the reserve, return to camp for a scrumptious breakfast. You have some time before lunch, so we recommend fishing in the Mara River, nature walk, napping, reading and other vacationing pastimes. After your lunch, you have some time before a late day game drive to chat with other guests, journal and watch the wildlife at the river. A late afternoon tour of Masai Mara reveals some of the twilight animals.
