My mother came to visit me in Zambia, as I was working there. But I am talking about 1983.
The Lodge was a nice experience to my mother, as the rooms were built as rondavals, or classical African cabins. Sadly, the food was not so good, so we ate at the larger hotel, kilometre away. I believe it was a Hilton.
We had a very good time with the staff, mostly not so young, and not so fast, but very enthusiastic and happy to help.
The Mosi oh Tunya is the greatest experience of my life. I still think of it often. Sometimes, in my dreams, I can still hear the Cloud that Thunders.
