Safari Description:
The 7 Nights Showcasing Kenya Safari & 7 Nights Mombasa Beach Holiday
is a specialized beach and safari program
dedicated and designed for guests arriving on the many direct flights into
Mombasa or even Nairobi; It provides a great value Kenya holiday program with excellent
safari guided experience, and the opportunity to escape
from your Indian Ocean Beach Holiday in Mombasa to bond with nature and enjoy
wildlife creating a perfect vacationing experience. The
common traveler arriving on the shores of Mombasa normally experiences a one or
two night safari program, often missing out on the complimenting and complex
wildlife and ecological interactions occurring daily. AfricanMecca's unique 7 Nights Showcasing Kenya Safari & 7 Nights Mombasa Beach Holiday
delivers an excellent program for couples, families and independent
travelers at the corresponding tier level with a mix of safari camps
accommodations. Driving and exploring all five parks almost assures you close
encounters with the following animals: lion,
leopard, cheetah, zebra, giraffe, serval, antelope, kongoni, lesser kudu, oryx,
klipspringer, impala, stripped hyena, ostrich, gazelle, buffalo,
elephant, rhino and many more. You start off spending the first
night in Nairobi prior to your safari - you can arrive in Mombasa or Nairobi.
The next day you depart for the Masai Mara National Reserve which can turn out
to be an event of a lifetime. The reserve shares a similar ecosystem with its
sister park, Serengeti in Tanzania and welcomes the wildebeest, zebras and
antelopes during the great migration season. The presence of migration attracts
prey and predator to partake in the cycle of life, which is eloquently described
in AfricanMecca’s poem about the Serengeti. The
visit to the Great Rift Valley will allow guests to experience the lushness
of the ecosystem, home to the great lakes that have formed in the rift. Fresh
water and alkaline lakes such as Lake Naivasha and Nakuru are home to hippos,
and thousands of flamingoes and migratory birds that converge during the course
of the year creating superb and colorful photographic moments. The region also
experiences mild weather making it refreshing to enjoy the outdoors. Thereafter,
you will experience Amboseli National Reserve with the majestic Mount
Kilimanjaro in the backdrop. Continue on to Tsavo West & East National
Parks, the largest parks in Kenya and a prized park for guests who enjoy
elephant watching. Tsavo ecosystem is a mixture of
grassland and forest shrub vegetation, and availability of water assures that
one will see plenty of wildlife. Tsavo
is internationally recognized for its mane-less lions and also for the legendary
9-feet man-eater lions epitomized in the superb movie “Ghost &
Darkness”. The added beauty of this program is the ability to
combine the wildlife experience with a beach holiday on the Indian Ocean Coast
where guests days are spent relaxing on the silky white beaches.
You have

Early breakfast;
thereafter, drive
towards Masai Mara National Reserve with lunch arranged at the Sarova Mara Camp.
Game drives are planned for you in the Masai Mara National Reserve, which forms
part of the Serengeti-Masai Mara ecosystem. The Masai Mara National Reserve is
Kenya's finest wildlife reserve. Everything about this reserve is outstanding.
The wildlife is abundant and the gentle rolling grasslands ensure that animals
are never out of sight. Birds, too, are prolific. Including migrants, well over
450 species have been recorded, among them, 57 species of birds of prey.
Experience the wildebeest migration spectacle. You have to be present on the
plains of the Masai Mara to genuinely appreciate the experience. Thomson's and
Grant's gazelle, Topi and Eland and many more species of plains' game offer a
rich choice of food for the dominant predators; lion, leopard and cheetah which
hunt in this pristine wilderness. In the Mara River, hippo submerges at the
approach of a vehicle only to surface seconds later to snort and boast their
presence. Seemingly, the drowsy crocodile sunbathe on the riverbanks, mouth
agape, waiting with subtle cunning for prey at which to strike with lightning
swiftness.

Africa’s close-nit
countries provide a symbiotic experience to travelers visiting this part of the
region because Mount Kilimanjaro, actually located in Tanzania also extends it
graciousness to guests in Kenya; one can compare the relationship on display as
symbolic of the awesome personalities and rich cultures of East Africa who have
lived and thrived along side each other for centuries.
Amboseli
National Reserve supports a wide range of mammals, well over 50 of the larger
species, and birds with over 400 species. AfricanMecca guests can experience the
offerings as well as have the opportunity to view the seasonal Lake Amboseli.
During your wildlife game drives, the snows of Mount Kilimanjaro, white and
crystalline, form a majestic backdrop to one of Kenya's most spectacular
displays of wildlife - lion, elephant, leopard, rhino, cheetah, buffalo and
hosts of plains' game, creating Kenya's most sought after photographer's
parades. There are estimated to be around 650 elephants, one of the largest
numbers per square kilometer in all of Kenyan parks and reserves. The swamps and
springs have encouraged the hippos to stay around. Other animals also seen are
wildebeest, lions, cheetahs, hyenas, antelopes, zebras, giraffes, gerenuks,
gazelles, buffalos and many more.

Day
6:
Amboseli National Park - Tsavo
West National Park
Early breakfast.
Experience morning game drive in Amboseli National Park with stop over for
lunch. Guests will have the opportunity to view a wide range of mammals, well
over 50 of the larger species, and birds with over 400 species. Years ago,
Amboseli National National Park was the locale around which such famous writers
as Ernest Hemingway and Robert Ruark spun their stories of big game hunting in
the wilds of Africa. It is also the home of the Maasai people, those tall, proud
nomads whose legendary prowess in battle and single handed acts of bravery in
fights with wild animals has spread across the globe. Perhaps more than any
other community in Kenya, the Maasai have learned to live in complete harmony
with their environment and the wildlife which surrounds them. All round the
Amboseli National Park are occupied and abandoned Enkaang's - Maasai
villages quickly built out of bent poles and sticks and plastered with cow dung
and equally swiftly abandoned when the grazing is finished and the herds must
move on.
The snows of Mount Kilimanjaro, white and
crystalline, form a majestic backdrop to one of Kenya's most spectacular
displays of wildlife - lion, elephant, leopard, rhino, cheetah, buffalo and
hosts of plains' game, creating Kenya's most sought after photographer's
parades. There are estimated to be around 650 elephants, the largest number in
all of Kenyan parks and reserves per square kilometer. The swamps and springs
have encouraged the hippos to stay around. Other animals also seen are
wildebeest, antelopes, zebras, giraffes, gerenuks, gazelles, and buffalos.
Amboseli Amboseli National Park best game runs are around the swamps and there
is a fine lookout on Observation Hill, which offers views over the whole of the
Amboseli National Park and beyond.
After lunch,
drive to Tsavo West National Park. Check
in to your camp and relax in the lounge area with spectacular views of wildlife
at the waterhole just 100 meters away. Relax with a hot shower and
prepare to complete the day with a tasty dinner and comfortable sleep.
Entering the Tsavo ecosystem, AfricanMecca
guests can place themselves back in time when the grass was dry and sunlight
illuminated the grasslands, and in the distance the presence of the great
majestic lions can only be felt. Hollywood's portrayal of the magnificent era
was accounted for in the Movie "Ghost and Darkness", a must watch for
guests intending to visit Kenya. Upon entering Tsavo West National Park, guests
can view the landscape being dominated, especially off the hills by the giant
baobab, a tree that is reputed to live a thousand years.
Chief
among Tsavo West National Park, ranks the marvel of Mzima Springs, replenished
with two hundred and twenty million liters of crystal-clear water every day,
from the underground streams stemming from the lava massif known as the Chyulu
Hills, 40-50 kilometers away. Mzima forms a haven for a rich wildlife pageant
with elephant soaking half immersed in the waters, light footed but ponderous
looking hippo, apparently weightless, tip-toeing across the bottom, crocodiles
basking on the bank or swirling through the water; gazelles, zebra and giraffe
wandering around the banks through the thick acacias and raffia palms together
with hundreds of chattering monkeys and birds.
Activities
Included: Day game
driving
Overnight
Accommodation: Severin
Safari Camp
Day
7: Tsavo
West National Park - Tsavo
East National Park
Experience
morning game drive in Tsavo
West National Park
with stop over for lunch. Thereafter, drive
to Tsavo East National Park undertaking a game drive on route. During your game
drives, a variety of animals can be seen such as lions, leopard, cheetah,
zebras, giraffes, serval, antelopes, kongoni, lesser kudu, oryx, klipspringer,
impala, stripped hyena, ostriches, gazelles, buffalos, elephants. There are many
interesting aspects in the open areas of Tsavo East such as the Yatta Plateau,
one of the world's longest lava flows. An additional attraction is the Athi
River flanked by stately doum palms which, near the Manyani gate forms the
Lugard Falls, a long stretch of rippling white water cataracts and a favorite
haunt for sunbathing crocodiles. Lugard Falls gush through a small fissure,
narrow enough for the foolhardy to leap across, before dropping to Crocodile
Point below, where the river changes its name to the Galana.
Check
in Satao Camp and relax on your private verandah with spectacular views of
wildlife around the camp. Satao Camp is one of Kenya’s best-kept secrets.
Words cannot do justice to the phenomenal wildlife experience that guests get
treated to. The wildlife such as waterbucks and impalas at Satao Camp are
literally residents of the camp because Satao was intellectually designed around
a traditional migratory trade route and the tamarind trees that have been
growing over the last 100 years continue to attract wildlife.
Activities Included: Day
game driving; superb wildlife viewing from camp.
Other Experiences
Available Additionally: Nature walk around the campgrounds spotting birds
and learning about the flora present.
