Taita Hills Lodge
Like most game park lodges in Kenya, the architecture of Tiata Hills Lodge is imaginative combining modern with local ethnic cultural themes in an inspired way. As you would expect the accommodation is comfortable, the food is excellent, the staff are friendly and helpful. Wildlife can be seen without even leaving the lodge. Lizards and amusing hyraxes can be seen scrambling around on nearby rocky outcrops. Some stairs lead down from the lodge to an underground hide very close to a waterhole where I was lucky to see elephant fairly close up at night. Herds of zebras and other larger wildlife can be seen out on the plains from the lodges high vantage point. The view from the lodge and the pool of the surrounding Taita Hills scenery is simply breathtaking. The steep rocky “hills” rising out of the plains that seem to stretch forever provide an almost surreal panorama. This is what makes Tiata Hills Lodge so memorable. If you are holidaying at the beautiful coast of Kenya, then Taita Hills Lodge is definitely worth the trip inland even just for one night.

I lived in Voi. I used to visit the lodge very often. I still have the memories of the little window we could see the animals from. There used to be a beautiful cool bar and there was this huge stone table in the foyer. The rooms were cool and briliantly decorated. The atmosphere was so serene and just Africa at its best. It has been many years but I would like to thank everyone there for the hard work and the beautiful memories I still treasure. The christmas season was excellent and the coffee.

I loved staying there. The hotel was excellent with its services and i enjoyed every minute of my stay there. Mostly i loved the taita dancers, that was an outstanding performance they gave to us. I would love to stay there again if i had the chance to.
