THE LODGE IS ABSOLUTLY AMAZING. ITS WONDERFUL TO BE ABLE TO BE SO CLOSE TO NATURE. THE ROOMS ARE COMFORTABLE, AND THE SHARED BATHROOM FACILITES ARE CLEAN AND SPACIOUS. YOU MUST EXPERIENCE THE WONDERFUL SHOWERS! THE FOOD IS OF A HIGH STANDARD AND THE QUALITY OF SERVICE IS EXCELLENT.I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS LODGE TO ANYONE.CANT WAIT TO GO BACK! |

If you are fortunate enough to visit Kenya be sure to visit Shimba Hills Lodge, it is absolutely amazing. The bush babies that peered in our room window were marvellous, as was our stay at Shimba Hills....An unforgettable holiday! |

My partner and I stayed at the Shimba Hills Lodge at the end of February 2002.
Well, what can I say, we both thought it was lovely. The rooms were very nice and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and it was a very relaxed atmosphere. The food was very good too.
We only stayed there for one night but would have both liked to have stayed there another. Thank you for your hospitality. See you again one day. |

Out of this World. Highly recommend you visit. Walking up in the treetops walkway. I thought there were buds on the trees and moving my hand through branch discovered there were hundreds of small butterflies that just took off and flew away.
Going back to Kenya and Tanzania in two weeks and SOOOOO looking forward to it. |

The best lodge I have been to and probably the best i ever will go to and my opinion is purley based on the setting. Dont expect luxury but do expect good food and freindly staff. Shimba Hills Lodge is in such a good location because its right in the middle of a jungle and right from your balcony, you can see a waterhole - its mind blowing. I saw elephants, monkeys and eagles from the lodge and thats not even on the safari. I reccomend this lodge 110% everything is amazing! |

We stayed for one night at Shimba Hills as part of a 4 day Safari. It was by far the most intimate lodge. The staff were also so welcoming and friendly. They really did make our stay at Shimba an ecellent one. The building is amazing and blends so well with the natural environment. The setting is also perfect and a brilliant place to sit and watch the animals that stroll into view, invluding the elephants. I would definitely recommend this place and I would most definitely go back. |

We visited Shimba Hills in 2003. We sadly only stayed for one night but the accommodation , food and ambiance was second to only Mountain Lodge in the foothills of Mount Kenya. This is not the lap of luxury but it is a magic place to stay. The food and attention of the staff was excellent. We are returning to Kenya in January 2006 and hope to spend another night at Shimba. my husband and I stayed at shimba Hill in 2003, we had also stayed at treetops the previous year but felt that shimba Hills was far better. The staff were first rate the food was wonderful but best of all was eating breakfast and watching a fish eagle dive for fish in the lake below. Unforgettable. |

I have travelled to many places, and still my mind takes me back to Shimba Hills- sheer heaven on earth. I didn't want to leave, and have never found time to go back, but to me that sign, "walk more slowly speak more softly made me feel more relaxed than I have ever felt anywhere else. I will go back one day. |

Visited the lodge in 2001. Overwhelmed by the natural beauty and the variety of wildlife. Found the staff all very welcoming and they greeted us with a hot towel and cocktail to cool off. Really enjoyed our meal overlooking that flood lit watering hole whilst watching a family of warthogs and below and a visiting bush baby. A one in a life time experience. Just beware of the shower rooms. You are not alone!

we went to shimba hill in february 2007 for what turned out to be a wounderful place to visit the people are very friendly and the food was lovley too the only down side is that you dont get much sleep as the animals make a lot of noise and it gets realy hot that time of the year the air conditioning is a fan in the middle of the room
all in all it was a place perfect for a overnight stay when on safari well woth visiting but dont expect the ritz. |
