Lion Hill Lodge |

I stayed at Lion Hill Lodge for one night at the end of a week in Kenya. The wildlife in the surrounding region is absolutely breathtaking. In one day we saw baboons, lions, rhinos, giraffe, water buffalo, wild boars, and more. There are so many flamingoes on the lake that, from a distance, you would think it had pink water. The food was great, the entertainment was delightful, and the lodging was above my expectation. |

While visiting friends in Nairobi, we had the chance to go on a short safari to Lake Nakuru Preserve. The Lion Hill Lodge was very pleasant. The buffet meals were huge with a wonderful variety of fresh fruits (so tempting that a baboon tried to crash the party!). The accomodations, while nothing super fancy, were very adequate. There were front porches with sweeping views of the lake below us. It was a memorable time and place. |

We stayed at the Sarova Lion Hill Lodge on Lake Nakuru for the last two nights of our seven day safari. We stayed in their basic cabana/room, which was very nice. Very tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. The bathroom was very nice. Always hot water! The staff was very pleasant and helpful, especially the woman working in the gift shop. She was full of interesting information on Kenya and Lake Nakuru. The dining room was beautiful and the food was fabulous. Buffet style with lots of choices! The pool was well maintained and I got a massage while I was there. It was wonderful! I highly recommend it! The staff of the dining room and the "bar" area were very friendly and helpful. Just sitting on the patio is so peaceful and it's wonderful to relax with some tea or a drink. There is a family of baboons who live on the property, so they are often entertaining to watch for a safe distance :) The game drives were great. We completed our BIG FIVE with a rhino sighting. The lake's edges looks pink due to the two million flamingos. It's really gorgeous. We had some rain, so that makes some of the roads interesting to "drive" over. You don't have to work hard to see animals at Nakuru, just hang out around the water. I highly recommend staying at Lion Hill. We had a fabulous time! |

I've been to Lake Nakuru twice since 1998.
My last trip in 2000 was even better than the first because there seemed to be an abundance of animals. In one day, we counted 14 different rhino near and around the lake. That was fantastic considering the first visit we only saw about 2 or 3.
The lodge was nice, the people friendly and the nightly performances were great!
I will be making my third visit to Kenya/Tanzania in 2003 and once again, Lake Nakuru is on my itinerary.
Even if you don't stay at the Lion Hill Lodge, if you make a trip through the Great Rift Valley, I would suggest a day trip to Lake Nakuru National Park. |

I traveled to Kenya on a missions trip where we had the pleasure to stay at Lion Hill. I was very pleased with the facility. Absolutly beautiful views including the gardens. The location could not have been better. I plan to return in the near future with my family. Thanks for your hospitality. |

We stayed at Lion Hill Lodge about 2 months ago. The service was absolutely brilliant, friendly and the meals were excellent. Some of our group played golf and said it too was excellent. The accommodation was also 5 star. An excellent lodge of superb quality. |

The very fact that it was only one night.

Just returned September 2004--comfortable rooms, enjoyed the dancing exhibition, good meals, close up of rhinos especially good. There were so many bird species at this lodge my husband was overwhelmed trying to identify them. |
