If you want a taste of tribal culture but don't have time to travel all over Kenya this is the place to experience it. The dancers were wonderful! Be aware that there is an extra charge to use your video camera but it is worth it. |

I haven't been to the Bomas of Kenya since 1983 but prior to that I spent quite of bit of time there over the annual visits I used to make to Kenya. The memories that I have of the Bomas of Kenya will stay with me forever! The traditional dances, the food and the culture are all wonderful. There used to be a traditional African market on site that was fantastic! The Bomas of Kenya is a destination you cannot miss when visiting Kenya! |

Truly this restaurant lived up to its name. This is a meat lovers paradise. The entire ambiance was well suited for a great night out. The preparation of the food and the attentiveness of the wait staff was impeccable. Every time I am in Nairobi I will require a meal at Carnivore. |

I went to this restaurant and i ate the most enormous amount of meat from many forms of animals. The food was amazing and my companions forced me to surrender my flag as they demanded their dessert, reluctantly i obliged and i was forced to devour my dessert earlier than i anticipated. This culinery experience and service was the best of my life. |

I visited Kenya in 1996 for one month. I was at the Masai Mara, Serena for a week, in Eldoret with friends and several other beautiful places. One very nice experience was the Carnivore Restaurant. I think we spent 5 or 6 hours there. It was a great time and really good food and drink. I will never forget it and hopefully I will get to come there again. |

I started visting the carnivore for dinners and lunches. Its true that carnivore is known worldwide for its arrays of wildlife meats like gazelle, crocodile and zebra etc. The menu is great and the customer service better than most restaurants in the world that i have visited in america, europe and the Middle East. Carnivore is a must for all those who like to experience something different and have a taste of class.
Its definately a must go for anyone into dinners lunches and dance. |

I was in Kenya June of 2005. We were a large group traveling together. They were able to easily accomodate us. The atmosphere was beautiful and the food was fantastic. Afterward there was a floor show...the acrobats were incredible...a colorful display of talent.
I recommend anyone who visits Kenya to make sure and visit this establishment. |

Wonderful unique restaurant! This was the last night of our trip, and we ate SO much, since we had been in very remote areas up until then. It was great just to eat a potato and salad again. The meats are incredible and the waiters are very attentive. The only weird thing was the abundance of cats strolling around the restaurant. They seemed to be everywhere, but they didn't really bother us. We are returning to Kenya in two months, and we will definitely return to the Carnivore! |

When the six of us arrived (two adults four children)the sights and smells were overwhelming: the first view of the restaurant, after walking down the smokey entrance, is the gigantic circular fire where swords of meat are being cooked. We were then swiftly shown to our seats towards the back of the open restaurant. The friendly and sociable, yet respectful waiter took our orders for drinks and shortly after returned with them- and bowls of delicious vegetable soup and bread. When we had finished our soups we raised the carnivore flag and took on the 'carnivore challenge', which was to not put the flag down, because as long as the flag is up, waitors will continue to return with exotic varieties of delicious meats. The wonderful staff came round with chicken, pork, and beef on swords and more unusual delicacies such as gazelle meatballs and crocodile. As we had a flight to catch and needed to leave soon, we didnt have the pleasure of eating desert, but the carnivore was a fantastic end to a beautiful holiday. Highly recommended. Brilliant staff, brilliant food, brilliant price. |

After living in Nairobi for four months and getting used to being able to eat dinner for under five dollars, carnivore seemed so expensive. I almost didn't eat there because of it, but I am so glad I did. I spend more in New York City - and its definitely a unique experience. All you can eat croccodile, hartebeast, ostrich, beef, chicken, etc. There are dipping sauces for each meat. Also, aside from the food Carnivore is a fun place to go afterhours - I spent many Wednesday, "rock," nights there - great place to dance! |

My favorite restaurant in the world.
For true Carnivores, this is the ultimate experience. I was at the Carnivore in 1993 on a round the world trip and I still rave about it to this day. Hot exotic meats sliced off a hot spear onto your hot plate and with a large assortment of sauces, I went there every day I was in Nairobi. The bar was like Casablanca the movie, with every character and nationality represented. Can you tell I like this place? This place is an absolute must if you are in Nairobi. I still have my keychain all these years! |
