Were there late May 2004. A majestic property with impeccably maintained cottages (william Holden). Fine dining in the restaurant and a decent live band.
Heated swimming pool is great, so is the underwater window. Other facilities such as a lake with hundreds of Ibis and Marabou Storks, the maize etc were excellent. |

A completely wonderful experience! The cabin was beautifully decorated and the bath with the tub-for-two was extraordinary. The fire in the evening and through the night was needed and very cozy. The surroundings were landscaped to perfection. The gourmet food was superb. All of the people were attentive to our wants and needs. All with a eye-filling experience of Mount Kenya.
We enjoyed the Animal Orphanage--the keepers were helpful and very knowledgeable. We knew about our St. Louis Zoo's program of helping with other zoos for a good gene-pool to return endanged animals to some African Reserves. The Animal Orphanage had a group of bongos from several U. S. zoos, our St. Louis Zoo was one, that would be taught how to live/eat in an animal reserve. This was a special treat for us. |

This place is a bit of luxury tied into an untouched land. It was such a relaxing and beautiful place. I felt like I was in a fairytale when I was walking through the shrubbery maze. Anyone who wants to be pampered should stay here. You even get you bed turned down with hot water bottles at your feet which was a nice surprise when I crawled into bed. The surroundings are beautiful, Kenya is beautiful and if you are fortunate enough to visit this country be sure to reserve your room at Mt. Kenya Safari Club |

We were married in the gardens of Mt. Kenya Safari Club in December, 2001. It is the most beautiful and romantic place in the world to get married. I walked down the equator to meet my husband, surrounded by African drummers. It was a very simple ceremony. We didn't want or need the trappings of an elaborate wedding because we were in a magnificent place. We had each other and our friends and the magnificent Mt. Kenya as our companions. The staff were wonderful, and although we organised everything from Australia through emails, everything went smoothly. We will remember the Mt. Kenya Safari Club with such pleasure and will visit again in the future.

Mount kenya safari club was one of the most impressive places ı have ever been to. We liked playing golf there. Hotel was excellent. We will visit again sometime in the future with the kids. |

I was a frequent resident at the MKSC from 1962-67 while living in Nairobi. This was during the heyday of my friends Ray Ryan and Bill Holden. The club is 83 acres of absoulte paradise. It was and is my home away from home. I am a lifetime member of the Club, #202 I think. I have spend many days and weeks at the club with my two friends Ray and Bill. The clube will always be in my heart. Ray and Bill closed the club on on 40th birthday for a party we filled all the 93 rooms with invited guest which included most of President Jomo Kenyattas cabinet members, leaders from the Kenya business community, professional hunters and others. During the filming of the movie Cowboy in Africa actor John Mills, Hugh O'Brien and the rest of the cast and crew headquartered at the club. There are very few of us left from that era of the club whose memeories should be recorded to maintain the wonderful history of this 9th wonder of the world. I hope to return to the club on my 85th birthday. I like Bill and Ray have requested my ashes be scattered at the club to join my two friends.

We are foreigners living in Tanzania and took a short holiday at the Mount Kenya Safari Club. We have never seen better service and care given to us in East Africa! They deserve an A+ for their accomodations and service! The riverside cottages were remarkable and the surroundings relaxing and breathtaking! We enjoyed ourselves so much 2 years ago when we were there we are planning having our 25th wedding anniversary there also! |

The hotel was fantastic and in subperb grounds. The food was something else and buffet style which was great i could have as much as i wanted. Drinks were a bit expensive though. Extra activities were a bit of the steep side, but overall it was very enjoyable for our over night stay and the best lodge that we stayed in whilst on safari! |

What can one say about some place that is perfect. It is so beautiful, rooms, sunken tub in bathroom plus shower stall. Dining was a pleasure, like sitting in a great room in a masion, food was excellent along with the staff. The grounds and the orphanage absolute must to see. The animals are amazing and like the staff in the dining area the staff in the orphanage was knowledgeable and fun to be with. Wish I could stay longer. Once couple said it quite nicely, I could live here. If you have a chance to be there even for a night do it. |

Was most interested to visit the Mt. Kenya Safari Club website and to see that the venue still looks wonderful! I had the pleasure of staying at the Club when I was a child way back in the 60's when I lived in Kenya (3rd generation of settlers). I can remember it vividly - including an amazing thunder and lightning storm which ripped a tree apart on the lawn not far from the swimming pool and sent the trunk in all directions with a piece shot like a missile rooting itself again in the front lawn! I think I still have a photograph! When I stayed there with my parents, there was great attention paid to the fact that the film "The Lion" had been shot there and a wooden arch had been erected to the site of the film shooting .... great memories. I would be interested to know of anyone who remembers this? |

I was a member of the Mount Kenya Safari Club for approximately 8 or 9 years. It is the most wonderful place on God's earth! The food was wonderful and the grounds beautiful. I haven't been there now since 1985. Highly recommended. |

We arrived late for lunch but the welcome we received on arrival at the lodge was so warm and hospitable. We first had a good buffet lunch and then a speedy check in to our lovely rooms overlooking the lawns. Very clean and comfortable with all possible amenities, we couldn't ask for more! The staff need special mention as they are warm and charming and eager to help with information. The property itself is amazingly beautiful with so much of activity. Our regret was that we only spent a night and day which is by no means enough time. A stay at the Fairmont Mt. Kenya Safari Club is a must include in a Kenya Safari itinerary.... |
