Serena Mountain Lodge
On our October 2002 15 day safari we were in a number of lodges but our favorite was Mountain Lodge. The food was the best we had. It was near the end of the journey and the peaceful afternoon spent just watching the animals interact around the watering hole was a superior experience. I want to go back and stay longer.

This is a gem of a place to stay. Views of the watering hole from all rooms make every minute exciting because there is always the potential to see animals. During our stay we saw spotted genet, waterbuck, bushbuck, cape buffalo, hyena, mongoose, Sykes' monkey and more. FYI: We were there in July and it got very chilly at night. Be sure to bring warm clothes for sleeping.

MOUNTAIN LODGE GIVES THE VISITOR A CHANCE TO SEE AFRICAN WILDLIFE UP CLOSE AND IN A SAFE FASHION. I SAT FOR HOURS INTO THE EVENING WATCHING THE PARADE TO THE WATERHOLE. LATE AT NIGHT I AWOKE AND LOOKED OUT OF MY WINDOW. THERE, IN THE "MOON" LIGHT WAS A BLACK RHINO......IT WAS BREATHTAKING. THIS IS A MOST WONDERFUL LOCATION AND THE INNKEEPERS ARE LOVELY. DON'T MISS THIS EXPERIENCE.
