been there on two seperate occasions with my wife.and each stay was wonderful adventure. The staff is the best. The Mara is a must for anyone wanting to see the real Africa. All the comforts of home, and the spirit of the wild. |

What an amazing place, during our first lunch we were lucky enough to experience about 8 elephants come through the camp, what a great start to a great 3 days. The accomodation was fabulous, infact the shower in our tent was better than at our hotel at the beach. The game drives were always an adventure and Julius, our driver was full of information about everything. The camp itself was great as was the food. we were lucky enough to be there for governors gala dinner and a slide show and talk by Jonathan Scott. On our last morning we had a visit from a hippo who was about 6ft away from our tent! Thanks goes to all at governors |

The most amazing place i have stayed in better than i could have imagined, the staff and management were among the friendliest people i have meet, the food was gorgeous the views breathtaking and as for the wildlife it doesn't get any better.
The game drives were outstanding and the driver was as keen to see the wildlfe as us which says something as they do this daily,so basically i will never go to a safari park again as it just cant compare to Masai Mara so give it a go i promise you will want to go back.

we have been here twice in September 05 and 04 and we think this camp is paradise. In 2005 the migration was exceptional and we were amazed how many different animals we saw. The camp itself was so relaxing we just didnt want to leave so we went back again in 2006 for 4 days. Our driver Charles was the best and although the migration was disappointing we saw lots of cats including leopard, a cheetah with her cub, hyena pups & jackal cubs. Once again the camp itself was wonderful & we felt like we had come home. George Murray made us very welcome as returning guests and the staff seemed to remember us as well. WE cant go this year but will be back there in in 2007 it's like a drug! |

Little Governors Camp |

I have been on several safaris in Kenya, but one of the best is "Little Governors" in the Maasi Mara. This has only 17 tents that are accessed by flying in and landing on an airstrip, then short ride to the river where you are transported across in a flat bottom boat--pulled over by a rope. Once on the other side you walk up some steep steps and then through some bush, then you are there. Great!
Tents are situated around a marsh like water hole and are the usual luxury tents. There is also a dining hall and a separate bar area that are covered. Usually breakfast and lunch are served outside and the food is good. They have the typical breakfast buffet and lunch and then dinner is served under covered area with usual more formal setting and 2 or 3 courses to choose from. They also do the campfire thing at night and have some traditional Maasi dancers on some nights.
Safaris are the usual types, but this is a great area as they have several prides of lions. Best part is the camp is not fenced off and the very first time we went, a herd of Elephant came right down to the water and we had to actually move from our outside dining area. I love this and they do provide armed guards any time elephant or wild game are around. Also had the experience of a large male hippo come out of the water and right through our camp area. Game are pentiful and over all one of the best places I have visited in Kenya and I have visited many. This is my favorite and rates a 5 stars out of 5.
Only downside is food is good but not great, breakfast is very good and the best. Desserts are okay, but part of that is the British type desserts that look better than they taste. However, this is being picky as I love going to this place and have seen lions make a kill on large male warthog, etc.
It is a bit more expensive than some of the other game park areas.
Have fun. |

We stayed at LGC in October of 2006 and had an outstanding experience! The service was impeccable, the safari guide (Julius)was amazing and the accomidations were perfect. Worth every penny we spent. I highly reccomend LGC to anyone looking for a comfortable, unique Kenyan experience. |

We just got back from Kenya where we stayed for several nights at Little Governor's. What a fabulous experience. We enjoyed the setting (although we were there when the mud was a foot deep and driving in was a major challenge.) Once there, we found the staff to be wonderful, the accommodations were spectacular, and the wildlife viewing (the wildebeest and zebra at the crossing, and the cheetahs, elephants, and lions) all accessible, with patience. More than we had expected!! |

We stayed there for 3 nights in Oct. 2001 and hope to return someday. It was wonderful, the guides great, food excellent and atmosphere wonderful. We stayed in 6 camps during our trip and this was the most outstanding one. Especially the resident wart hog and babies that had the run of the camp. This was only a few days after 9/11 in our country and the people were most sympathetic. |

We have stayed in this camp in 2000 and 2001. They are superb with good food and excellent accommodation. The tents are luxurious, particularly if, like us, you have the chance to experience one of the extra large double beds generally available only at the Private camp or Il Moran.
They benefit also from the locality where there is a profusion of game close by. |

In one word: FANTASTIC!
For the two of us, it was 1,500 USD, which is a lot of money. But I must say: it has been worth every penny! Since I have a very strong phobia for snakes, I was very apprehensive about staying overnight. However, the wonderful feeling of safety that comes from being around people who all know what they are doing, combined with the luxury and the serenity of the camp, made me sleep without fear! To hear the baby hippo sniff at the zipper of our tent, was rather an experience. But the service-minded attitude of the entire staff, guards and Masai in the camp made it fantastic. The game drives (in jeeps with a very good suspension!) were a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I am sure I will come again!

I have just come back from my honeymoon and 5 days of this was spent at Little Governors Camp. We had the most amazing time. We could not fault a thing and everything exceeded our expectations 10-fold. We would recommend this camp to anyone considering going on Safari. A truly magical experience. We are already saving up to come back again! |

We had a wonderfull time herem, we won a weeks safari with our newspaper AD in holland and spend a week here.
I enjoyed my stay with my hussband and reporter Maarten from holland.
This is a moment I never forget with a hippo around my tent at night and a buffalo during the day so we had to run and go back to the restaurant |
