What a fabulous place, we stayed here in 2002 and the welcome that we received was more than could be expected. All the staff could not do enough for us, they were friendly and hospitable. We have since returned to Kenya but did not stay at Kilifi and what a difference. the hotel could not have been further from Kilifi in every way. Highly recommend this hotel!!!!!!!!!!! |

My names Megan and i went to this hotel a couple of years back and i wish very much to go back. The people who served us were very friendly, warm and i could not wish for any better than they were, they were the best. The food was great and the rooms were lovely. I loved the bar people Dorcas jerry and justin. And ben terry and victor were great entertainers, and i liked the guards daniel and alex. me and my family are hoping to go back next year. |

Hello,my name is Mona,I am a student of social works in Munster,Germany.
In Sep. 2005 I had the great opportnity to travel to Kilifi,Kenya,to work in Chumani Medical Clinic. It was one of the greatest experiences I was allowed to make. People are so friendly and open,it`s just unbelievable!
So sorry, that I was only able to spend a rather short time there!
Now,that uni has started I´m planning on a semester abroad, and guess what- it`ll hopefully be Kenya again.
With all my best wishes for the people of Kenya and Africa in general,I am,sincerely Africa`s

I find it difficult to say anything NICE about Mnarani Club Resort (I wish I had never heard of this place) We had a booking there from 10 December until 17th December 2006! What an awful place, unless of course you enjoy going to places that are in a 40 year decor time warp! Shall I start from the beginning? Well here goes... The very old bus that picks you up from the airport is not exactly luxury! (its quite a joke actually! No air conditioning! and believe me at midnight in December - Mombasa is V HOT! We were offered cold drinks, but were promptly told that we would have to pay for them - they don't give you a straw, so drinking them on board with the huge potholes that the poor bus driver has to negotiate is no fun and almost knocked our teeth out! so needless to say we gave up! Then arriving at the hotel - it was a huge shock! Run down and old fashioned to say the least - the rooms were clean, but the aircon sounded like a tractor so we had to switch it off in order to get some sleep! The bathrooms were clean and the towels new and clean, but once again very old fashioned the shower spout hardly hits the spot! but at least we had water! The food was okay - a bit like boarding school food so if you are into to healthy eating forget it! The management are Afrikaans and like to keep to themselves (and hosting their families who come to visit!) Therefore, if you are English speaking forget trying to 'fit in' you just don't! The literature dotted around the hotel is not about Kenya, but the 'old' womens Afrikaans magazines we get from SA. I have to say that the Kenyan staff at Mnarani were really super - very helpful, kind and hospitable. The scuba diving is a joke - they only have 2 tanks, BCD's looked old and worn! (need I say more!) Upon seeing this we made enquiries on the internet and luckily we found out about Aquaventures at Oceansports Hotel in Watamu (a 1 hour drive away) When we arrived to see Aquaventures - what a fantastic experience - Steve Curtis and his wife Helen know their stuff (very professional!) and the diving was awesome - 24 meter visability! We checked out of our hotel and went to stay at Hemmingways! (just a few meteres away from Aquaventures) What a stunning Resort Hotel situated on Watamu beach which had a gorgeous white sandy beach of the well maintained Marine Sanctury (we even swam with the Dolphins! what an awesome experience!) You know what, we decided it worth checking out of Mnarani and losing all our money (as we paid upfront!) Don't even consider going to stay at Mnarani if you enjoy a luxury beach holiday as well as professional scuba diving. There isn't a beach at Mnarani, unless of course you enjoy sunbathing on a man made beach situated in Creek - its approximately 10-12 meters wide!
Looking back - I should have investigated this place more on the web and in the end you do get what you pay for! there is no such thing as a bargin! Rather save up for that wonderful holiday that you deserve! |

We were disgusted in the standard of rooms at Mnarani. We had to move rooms twice, before we remained in the third below average room. The 1st room was filthy dirty and the air con did not work. In the 2nd room, the toilet smelt like urine as there must have been a burst pipe or just from lack of cleaning. The hotel directly advertising in South Africa that the rooms are re-done is FALSE advertising to say the least. Although it appears we were unlucky as the ocean view rooms were of a higher standard. The was another reason we felt completed "robbed" as all the rooms are priced the same yet, the garden rooms are a disgrace! The managers/owners are RUDE and are not very obliged to assist you. They blame all the problems by saying "this is Africa!" They forget that we live in Africa. It was an absolute disgrace. Kenya is a beautiful place and I would definately go back but would NEVER recommend anyone to stay there. |

My husband and I stayed at the Mnarani Club in September 2004 for our wedding / honeymoon. We had a brilliant time there, can't wait to go back! The food, accomodation, entertainment and staff were all second to none, and we made some good friends over there. Visiting the surrounding villages was a unique experience - we brought back so many souveniers! We would recommend the Mnarani Club to anyone considering going to Kenya - we will definitely be going back there. |

It was my first time in Kenya with my brother, who has been there lots of times, and I could not fault the place. The hotel was beautiful & the staff FANTASTIC - they could not do enough for you. A truely luxurious holiday, which I hope to repeat in the not to distant future. They all deserve a medal for what they put up with & I will be recomending this place to my friends. Thank you for a wonderful holiday & I hope to see you soon. |

Having just finished a safari and after a long journey we arrived in total darkness and torrential rain at the Mnarani Club. the staff were only too willing to help with our luggage and take it to our room. The room looked good and clean but was a little bit tired and needed to have a minor facelift, however this did not have any bearing on our holiday as all we needed was somewhere clean to put our heads down. The food in the dining area was very good and plentiful. The staff all over the complex from the beach bar to the main bar and even to the security men on the gate were very friendly and nothing was too much bother, (hakunamatata) no problem. I would recommend this club to anybody. |

Recently I visited Mnarani Club, Kilifi with my wife and our friends following a safari. I know I am speaking for all when I say that our stay was memorable. The rooms were very good, the food excellent, the surroundings splendid and the staff outstanding. Wherever we went around the Club we were met by smiling faces, great courtesy and happiness that made it a happy time for us. Thank you all. |

Probably the second greatest holiday we have had. Fantastic staff, fantastic food, fantastic location. I can recommend this hotel to anyone. If you want to do your bit there are plenty of opportunities to hhelp out the local schools. We donated a couple of desks but you can provide books or pens etc. Or go the whole hog and sponcer a child.
Whatever you do you will enjoy your stay |

My husband and I spent our honeymoon at this hotel. We were married in Nairobi 2nd November 2004 we travelled back to Mombasa overnight arriving at the hotel 8am on 4th November. We were shown to a garden room which looked very basic. After spending the day by the pool and on the beach we went back to our basic room, it had been fully decorated in flowers there was fruit Champagne it was a total transformation .The food is good the staff are courteous ,the five days we spent there were wonderful the guys who took us out on there dhow gave us some wonderul memories to treasure. My husband celebrated his birthday there and they made it so special. We will return in November 2005, the game of bingo still makes me laugh.
The place is peaceful calming and the location is breathtaking everyone should visit this hotel at least once. |
