Kenya - East Africa Honeymoon With AfricanMecca
Jambo Altaf and Raza! We are back on earth now after our fabulous honeymoon. This is to say THANK YOU so much for organising a week in Kenya that we will never forget.....! There was not a single thing in the itinerary that was not organised to perfection. During the three transfer stays at the House of Waine in Nairobi, we were received as friends rather than guests, and given the best suite in the house. At all times we were made to feel so special, and to our great surprise they had organised a private honeymoon dinner for us complete with champagne, a roaring fire, candle light, and rose petals on the floor, and found a beautiful bouquet of roses in our suite. We were lost for words... All transfers to and from the airport to the House of Waine, and all other trips, were organised to perfection by Darlene. After our first night at the House of Waine, we were picked up by John Mugo who turned out to be a real gem. He had great knowledge of the country and different species, and we learned a lot from him. His dose of humour also made the trips great fun! He took us to the Sarova Mara Lodge in the Maasai Mara, where we stayed in a lovely deluxe tent. In the Mara we saw four of the Big Five, including a leopard (and the 'missing' rhino we saw in Lake Nakuru National Park). Indeed, we saw many more animals than we expected (a cheetah, lions on the hunt and after a kill, and lots of giraffes and elephants with their young; and the trek of the wildebeests!). We attempted a balloon flight, but unfortunately it was too windy to take off, which is apparently quite unusual. After the Mara we went to Lake Nakuru, which had a whole other beauty in itself. The expanse of the lake and its flamingos was breath-taking. We stayed in a wonderful junior suite in Saravo Lion Hill Lodge, which had magnificent views over the lake. John took us on another game drive, where we saw the aforementioned rhinos, many baboons, and of course the flamingos. On our way back to Nairobi he took us to Lake Naivasha for a lovely boat ride; after our return to Nairobi we had another day there before going back home, and Darlene organised a fantastic day sightseeing for us in Nairobi. All in all, the trip was amazing, and our only 'complaint' to ourselves was that we had not allowed for more days on safari! We wholeheartedly recommend AfricanMecca team to anyone who wishes to visit Kenya! Thank you again: Asante sana!
